Vanessa Hudgens hit a home run when she met Cole Tucker.

The Princess Switch actress and the baseball player were first linked in November 2020. After giving us a few sneak peeks at their love on Instagram throughout 2021, the couple celebrated their first anniversary with a sweet Instagram post on Dec. 29.

In February 2023, PEOPLE confirmed that Hudgens and Tucker are engaged. TMZ was the first to report the news, saying the pair got engaged at the end of 2022.

Hudgens previously told Entertainment Tonight in April 2021 what has allowed her relationship to work.

"He's just kind of perfect for me," she said. "I am [happy]. I really am. I think that it's also so important to stay grateful for everything that you have in life. I've been making that a priority, and I feel like it's just been making magic happen all the more."

November 2020: Vanessa Hudgens and Cole Tucker spark romance rumors

The two first sparked romance rumors when they were spotted getting cozy during an outing in L.A. in November 2020. Hudgens could be seen wrapping her arms around Tucker as they enjoyed a dinner date at the Canyon Country Store.

For Valentine's Day, Hudgens shared a cute snap of her kissing Tucker on Instagram with the caption, "It's you, it's me, it's us. @cotuck."

February 26, 2021: Cole Tucker talks about Vanessa Hudgens in an interview

During an MLB spring training interview, Tucker publicly talked about Hudgens for the first time. "I got a girlfriend and she's cool. She's awesome, I love her. But I don't want it to be, 'Oh, Cole's dating Vanessa … ' " he said. "I don't want it to be treated any differently than Mitch [Keller] having his wife down, or Ke'Bryan [Hayes] having his girlfriend come down. She's great. She'll be around. You will see her, but you saw the headline, it is what it is."

March 23, 2021: Vanessa Hudgens supports Cole Tucker at spring training

As Tucker prepared for a new season, Hudgens traveled to Florida to spend time with him during spring training. She even posted a photo of her and a friend watching Tucker from the stands.

March 31, 2021: Vanessa Hudgens and Cole Tucker have some fun in the sun

Hudgens shared a selfie of her and Tucker enjoying a beach day on Instagram. Hudgens posed with her tongue out while Tucker squinted at the sun.

Hudgens captioned the post, "🌞Sun Girl and Moon Boy🌝."

April 2021: Vanessa Hudgens reveals how she met Cole Tucker

During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Hudgens revealed that she actually met Tucker on a Zoom meditation group. When asked how they hit it off, she said, "He's just kind of perfect for me."

On The Drew Barrymore Show in May, Hudgens added that she made the first move with Tucker. "If I want something or someone, I'm going after them," she told the host. "I fully just slid into his DMs and was like, 'Hey, it was nice to meet you.' So I think there is no shame in making the first move."

July 11, 2021: Vanessa Hudgens and Cole Tucker go the distance

As Tucker traveled for work, the duo went long-distance with their relationship. When Tucker's teamed played the New York Mets, the two met up at the game in N.Y.C., with Hudgens calling herself "Biiiiig sports gals" in the caption.

On July 27, Hudgens shared a sweet photo of Tucker and her kissing on a boatride with the caption, "Missing u @cotuck," to which Tucker replied, "breakfast sooooon."

November 2021: Vanessa Hudgens and Cole Tucker take a tropical vacation together

In November, Hudgens and Tucker enjoyed some quality time together in the Caribbean. The actress shared sweet photos of them during their vacation at Hodges Bay Resort & Spa in Antigua.

November 11, 2021: Vanessa Hudgens and Cole Tucker make their red carpet debut

Shortly after their vacation, the duo headed to L.A. for the premiere of Netflix's Tick Tick...BOOM! at the TCL Chinese Theatre on Nov. 10. The appearance marked their red carpet debut as a couple. A few days later, Hudgens and Tucker headed to the East Coast for the N.Y.C. premiere of the film at the Schoenfeld Theatre.

December 29, 2021: Vanessa Hudgens and Cole Tucker celebrate their 1-year anniversary

On Dec. 29, Hudgens marked her anniversary with Tucker on Instagram. Alongside a cute photo of the pair dressed up, she wrote, "1 year down @cotuck ❤️love👏🏽you👏🏽🤟🏽" Tucker later commented under the post, "The best 🤟🏽🤟🏽🤟🏽🤟🏽🤟🏽"

February 6, 2022: Vanessa Hudgens and Cole Tucker go hiking

Before spring training began for the 2022 Major League Baseball season, Tucker spent his off-season downtime with Hudgens. On Feb. 6, Hudgens posted several photos of the couple on a hiking date on Instagram.

In the post, the actress declared herself "Grounded and oh so happy," to be out in the wild with Tucker.

April 7, 2022: Vanessa Hudgens wishes "Happy Opening Day" to Cole Tucker

On Major League Baseball's Opening Day for the 2022 season, Hudgens posted a few silly photos of Tucker and her on Instagram to wish her boyfriend luck for the first game of the year. She noted in the post, "Happy opening day my 👑"

June 5, 2022: Vanessa Hudgens supports Cole Tucker in trade to Arizona

On June 5, Tucker was traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks after playing for the Pittsburgh Pirates since 2019. The move not only brought the Phoenix native back to his home state, but also much closer to the Los Angeles-based Hudgens.

Hudgens supported Tucker's move west in an Instagram story about the news, saying both "Let's go babyyy" and "A great day indeed."

October 31, 2022: Vanessa Hudgens and Cole Tucker spend Halloween together

While Hudgens and Tucker opted out of a couple's costume, they still spent the spooky holiday together. The High School Musical star dressed up as Miss Argentina from the 1988 film Beetlejuice, while Tucker painted his entire face to appear as Sting — a pro wrestler. Hudgens shared a photo of their intricate costumes on Instagram.

In a joint Instagram post, the couple announced that Tucker popped the question with a stunning emerald-cut engagement ring in Paris.

Hudgens celebrated Valentine's Day with a sweet post about Tucker on Instagram.

"Real magnetic love is out there. What a journey it was to get here but so worth it to get to my forever @cotuck 🥰 Happy Valentine's Day ❤️," she captioned a photo of the newly-engaged couple. The image showed Tucker kissing the actress on the cheek, and behind them were gold balloons that said: "Mr. & Mrs."

March 16, 2023: Vanessa Hudgens opens up to PEOPLE about her engagement

In March 2023, Hudgens gushed about her recent engagement as she spoke to PEOPLE, noting that she was completely surprised by Tucker's proposal.

"We had definitely talked about it, but I did not expect it to happen the way that it happened and the moment that it happened," she said. "It definitely caught me off guard and I was bawling my eyes out." Of her "gorgeous" engagement ring, she added, "I love it. I get distracted by it all the time."

Hudgens added she's knee-deep in planning for the wedding and already overwhelmed. "It's a big daunting thing — so much goes into it," she said with a laugh. "Like Gwen Stefani said, this s— is bananas."
