Vandalia-Butler Community hosts ‘United in Prayer’ event Monday, family of victims speak
Monday afternoon Vandalia and Butler Township communities held a vigil for the four people killed during a shooting in their community.
The event took place at Vandalia-Butler High School and started at 5 p.m.
It was announced with a post in social media that read “we will be praying for the families impacted and our community to be strengthened in light of this tragedy.”

Relatives of the four victims, Clyde and Eva “Sally” Knox and Sarah and Kayla Anderson, were attendance and spoke at the vigil.
Chris Knox, the son of Clyde and Eva expressed his gratitude to the community during this difficult time.
“My mother and father loved this community. They have been a part of this district for nearly 50 years. This is our and home and it always will be. I can not say ‘thank you’ enough,” Chris said.
Kelly Brockman who said he was the father of Sarah Anderson and grandfather of Kayla also spoke.
