Van Jones Welcomes Fourth Baby, His Second with Friend Noemi via 'Conscious Co-Parenting' (Exclusive)

The two are already parents to a baby girl, while Jones shares two sons with ex-wife Jana Carter

Van Jones is a dad again!

The Emmy-Award-winning broadcast journalist, 55, has welcomed his fourth baby, a rep for Jones confirms to PEOPLE. This is the second baby for Jones and his friend Noemi Zamacona, whom he welcomed a baby girl with in 2022 as conscious co-parents.

"God is so good! This year, He blessed me and Noemi with kid #2 — a healthy, happy, beautiful baby boy," Jones tells PEOPLE in a statement. "Our daughter loves him so much — maybe a little TOO much. (She kisses him like Woody Woodpecker, and he barely survives her hugs!)"

"Our modern family is thriving, blessings are flowing and we appreciate all the love and support," his statement continues.

According to a source close to the situation, Jones' new baby boy was conceived via the conscious co-parenting approach.

In February 2022, Jones announced that he'd welcomed his first baby, a daughter, with Zamacona, advocating for "conscious co-parenting."

"After the COVID lockdown, I got clear that I wanted another kid. I discovered that my friend Noemi also wanted a baby. So we decided to join forces and become conscious co-parents," he said in a statement shared with PEOPLE. "It's a concept that I hope more people will explore and consider.

"This month we welcomed to Earth a baby girl, whom we will raise as coparenting partners. This is a special time for our families. I feel grateful, joyful and blessed. As we create a safe and loving environment for this blessed young soul, I respectfully ask for privacy. Thank you for all the love and support," Jones added.

Jones' announcement marks his third time becoming a dad. He also shares two sons with ex-wife Jana Carter, whom he married in 2005. They announced their split to PEOPLE in 2018.

"We will continue raising our kids together, running our businesses together and supporting each other's growth," the exes said in a joint statement at the time. "There is no beef or drama — just evolution."
