Austin's eclipse viewing experience just got a little cooler.

Vampire Weekend, the popular New York City rock band, recently announced a special live performance in Austin on April 8 to celebrate their upcoming album. The show is set to kick off at noon at the Moody Amphitheater, coinciding with the total solar eclipse that day just after 1:30 p.m.

Vampire Week's new album, "Only God Was Above Us," is the band's first full-length album since 2019. "Father of the Bride," Vampire Weekend's previous album, was the group’s third consecutive number one album on the Billboard 200 and was nominated for Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards, according to a news release from the band.

The Austin show is the first non-festival appearance the band has added to their calendar for 2024.

Tickets go on sale Tuesday at 10 a.m. Pre-sale and general information can be found at vampireweekend.com.
