A “Vampire Diaries” Love Match? Candice King Shares a Kiss with “Originals” Star Steven Krueger

An unexpected romantic crossover appears to be brewing between a Vampire Diaries alum and a former Originals star.

Candice King, who previously played Caroline Forbes on The Vampire Diaries, has seemingly confirmed her new relationship with Steven Krueger, known for starring as Josh Rosza on Vampire Diaries spinoff The Originals, in a new Instagram post.

As she posted her 2023 recap montage on Wednesday, the actress included clips of herself dancing, vacationing and having fun with friends and family. But the video also included a video of King, 36, kissing Krueger, 34.

"I laughed. I cried. I laughed til I cried. I loved," she captioned the post. "Thanks for the dance 2023 🥂"

Fans express both their shock and support for the pair, with one person commenting, "Caroline and Josh were not on my 2023 bingo card but I'm here for it 😍"

"You’re with Steven? Omg this is so amazing," another user shared, while a third person wrote, "You were kissing Josh!!!!!!"

Another fan noted that they were "here for the soft launch" of King's relationship with Krueger.

King's apparent confirmation of her relationship with Krueger comes more than a year after she filed for divorce from The Fray guitarist Joe King in May 2022. The former pair, who share daughters Florence and Josephine, had been married for nearly seven years.

At the time, court documents obtained by PEOPLE stated that the actress filed due to "irreconcilable differences."
