Valerie Bertinelli is a stunning mother of the groom.

Wolfgang Van Halen, the only son of Bertinelli and the late Eddie Van Halen, tied the knot with longtime fiancée Andraia Allsop at their Los Angeles home on Sunday. The date, Oct. 15, matched their first-date anniversary on Oct. 15, 2015.

Bertinelli walked her son down the aisle in the bride and groom's living room in front of 90 of their closest friends and family. The Food Network star wore a stunning, plum suit by Lori Eskowitz.

"It was so comfortable and that’s really wanted," Bertinelli tells PEOPLE, adding that during the reception, she swapped her heels out for pink sparkly flip flops after the ceremony. "Beautiful as they were I am not a fan of high heels so much anymore," she says.

Bertinelli chose the color, "because Draia’s theme was a beautiful dusty rose and I knew her mother, Launa, was going to wear a plum-ish color, so I thought I’d try to sync with her."

Ahead of Wolfgang's wedding Bertinelli told PEOPLE she couldn't wait for the big day.

"I’m most looking forward to having my family, my brothers here in town and Andraia’s family as well," together and enjoying each other’s company."

Leading up to the wedding, Wolfgang told PEOPLE that his mom was "just crying all the time" because of how excited she was. "She will certainly be crying the entire time," he said before the big day. "I hope she gets waterproof mascara."

For Bertinelli, Wolfgang's wedding is incredibly meaningful. "It brings me such a nice sense of peace knowing Wolfie and Andraia have each other for the rest of their lives,"she says. "They really ‘get’ one another. Their humor is very similar, they like similar things, they know how to give each other space and they’re just so comfortable together."

The Mammoth WVH frontman wore a custom, three-piece suit and Allsop stunned in a long-sleeve, V-neck gown by Eva Lendel.

Bertinelli was "the one who really facilitated the fittings and everything for our wedding attire," said Wolfgang.

The Kids Baking Championship star also weighed in on the wedding menu, naturally. The couple served an Italian-style dinner starting with tortellini en brodo, "a delicious Italian soup that my mom grew up having all the time," Wolfgang told PEOPLE.

They also offered guests braised short ribs, pesto chicken and tiramisu. Their vanilla wedding cake with vanilla buttercream was from SusieCakes in L.A.

Wolfgang simply described the day as "comfy." Added Allsop: "A comfortable celebration with everyone that we love."

"Ed would’ve been absolutely beaming and so, so proud of the man Wolfie has become and is becoming and so happy that he has found Andraia, someone who really understands Wolfie, who he is and who he wants to be and supports him wholeheartedly," says Bertinelli.
