Valerie Bertinelli admits she’s ‘mentally/emotionally exhausted’

More than two months after revealing she’s in a new relationship, Valerie Bertinelli is stepping away from it all, at least for now.

“The last six or so weeks have been…a LOT,” the celebrity chef admitted in an Instagram post.

“And while I am incredibly grateful for all your support for my book and everyone I’ve had the good fortune to meet, this here introvert in extrovert’s clothing is in need of a mental health break,” Bertinelli shared.

As Mamas Uncut previously reported, back in March, Bertinelli revealed that she was giving love another chance after her 2022 divorce from Tom Vitale.

Bertinelli shared in an interview with USA Today that she “met someone. And I’m incredibly grateful for him.”

Several weeks later, the cookbook author and her new boyfriend, 53-year-old writer Mike Goodnough went public with their relationship.

“I know, I know, this isn’t an airport, I don’t need to announce my departure,” Bertinelli continued in her statement. “I just know how some of you worry about me if I don’t post often enough.”

She promised her fans that she’s “good. Honest,” adding this break is a “good thing.”

“Taking a little social media cleanse/detox and a mental health break is a good thing and I’m grateful I’m at a place in my life where I’m aware enough to know when I’m overwhelmed and mentally/emotionally exhausted.”

“Y’all take care of yourselves,” she concluded. “I’ll be back before you know it.”
