UTA’s MediaLink Elevates Execs for a Cannes Lions Without Michael Kassan

UTA has set its executive team for MediaLink’s core advisory business, a key move following the exit of MediaLink founder Michael Kassan in March.

The Beverly Hills-based agency revealed the leadership in a memo to staff Tuesday morning.

The marketing consulting business will be led by Donna Sharp, along with Andrea Kerr Redniss and Lena Petersen; and the media & tech strategy consulting business will be led by Christopher Vollmer, Devrie DeMarco and Mark Wagman.

The six executives are expected to run the day-to-day operations of MediaLink going forward, and will report to UTA CEO Jeremy Zimmer.

“This group has been leading  the work and delivering results for clients for many years now,” UTA CEO Jeremy Zimmer said in a statement. “Diving in with them over the last few weeks has given us tremendous confidence in their ability to lead MediaLink and drive the business forward.”

MediaLink has become a stalwart of the media and marketing circuit, with consultants for the company a regular presence at events like the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, and the Cannes Lions advertising festival in Cannes.

The new executive team comes a month after Kassan parted ways with UTA in a bitter, public dispute in which each side accused the other of malfeasance. The MediaLink founder resigned on March 6 over an alleged breach of contract, a day before UTA fired him over allegedly misusing company funds.

Most of the legal claims have since been moved to arbitration.

Kassan is scheduled to speak during a keynote at the marketing conference Possible in Miami Wednesday, where he is expected to address his own future plans.
