United States men’s national team striker Josh Sargent scored his second goal of the season Saturday for Werder Bremen in a 1-1 draw with Hertha Berlin.

Sargent executed a nice give-and-go with Max Eggestein in the seventh minute, playing a one-touch ball toward the right corner that Eggestein tracked down and cut back. The Hertha defenders casually jogged to the touchline as Sargent camped out in the top of the box unmarked, and his finish took a fortunate deflection (via Fox Soccer):

Sargent’s first goal of the season came back on Sept. 1, when he found the net against Augsburg to celebrate a then-recent call-up to the USMNT for the September international window.

Dodi Lukebakio equalized in the 70th minute for Hertha, however, and Werder Bremen stays bolted to the middle of the Bundesliga table, in ninth place with nine points from eight matches.
