The federal raid on Sean “Diddy” Combs’ homes in Miami and Los Angeles earlier this week has fans going back into the celebrity archives to see if there was evidence of his misdeeds in front of us all along. Well, it seems that a 2016 interview between Howard Stern and Usher is raising eyebrows in the wake of the music mogul’s sex-trafficking allegations. Even thought Usher has spoke highly of his time with Combs, there are still some questionable situations that no teen should be placed in.

The R&B star was a 13-year-old singing prodigy when he was sent to live with Combs for a year — yes, you read that correctly — in New York City. Usher admitted it was an eye-opening experience during his young teen years. “I got a chance to see some things. I went there to see the lifestyle — and I saw it,” he told Stern. “I don’t know if I could indulge and understand what I was even looking at. It was pretty wild.”

Usher was surrounded by other musical talents at the time, including Biggie Smalls, Lil’ Kim, Craig Mack, Faith Evans, and Mary J. Blige, but he revealed he was also staying up late to party with them, too. Overall, he described his time with Combs as “pretty crazy” and when asked if he would consider sending his kids to “Puffy camp” while knowing what goes on behind the scenes, he gave Stern a firm, “Hell no.”

Fans who dig even deeper into Hollywood history will find a 2004 Rolling Stone interview that dives into what Usher experienced at Combs’ house. The music producer introduced him to “a totally different set of s**t — sex, specifically.” He added, “Sex is so hot in the industry, man. There was always girls around. You’d open a door and see somebody doing it, or several people in a room having an orgy. You never knew what was going to happen.”

Usher was obviously a kid in a very adult world and the heat surrounding Combs makes the “Yeah” singer’s stories pretty uncomfy. Combs continues to fight the allegations against him and his lawyer, Aaron Dyer told People that this is nothing but a “witch hunt” against him. “There has been no finding of criminal or civil liability with any of these allegations,” the statement read. “Mr. Combs is innocent and will continue to fight every single day to clear his name.”
