Usher is laser-focused on making sure his next huge gig is “the performance of his life.” The GRAMMY award-winning star has reportedly given up all sugar and alcohol in order to be in optimal health for the upcoming Super Bowl Halftime show, a source told the Sunday Mirror.

The Super Bowl has always been on Usher’s bucket list and he wants to be in the best shape to give the performance of his life to the 100 million-plus people watching. He has quit all sugar and alcohol and is rehearsing endlessly,” the source reportedly said.

Many fans shared their reactions on X, with a lot of people referencing Beyoncé’s infamously intense diet she took on to prepare for her 2018 Coachella performance. “He on that Beyoncé Homecoming diet. We’re in for a treat,” one user typed.

Others expressed how they were already impressed with his physical shape during his recent Las Vegas residency. “The way he moved like a teenager in Vegas? He about to bounce all around that field now,” another person wrote.

Speaking of Vegas, the “Yeah” artist was recently rewarded for his contributions to Sin City in a major way. Usher was given the key to the city on Oct. 17, 2023 — which was also declared as Usher Raymond Day — as a token of gratitude for contributions like his three-year residency, the Lovers & Friends music festival, and more.

“Councilman, thank you so much for this momentous moment. I know the efforts that go into doing something like this and I don’t take it for granted,” the “Good Good” singer said upon receiving the key. “I wanna thank you for your belief in the future and your ability to be able to recognize those things that actually do grow your city. I am someone who is now just contributing by way of entertainment, but also to the heartbeat of the city.”

Ush’s immensely successful concert series kicked off in July 2021 and came to an emotional end in December 2023. Revisit the tearful clip of his last performance below.
