This Is Us taps Sophia Bush and Pamela Adlon for guest roles

This Is Us has a Sophie. Now it has a Sophia. And a Pamela.

Sophia Bush and Pamela Adlon will guest-star in upcoming episodes of NBC’s hit family drama, it was announced by creator Dan Fogelman on Saturday. While Fogelman was mum on details about Bush’s role, he teased of Adlon’s character, he teased that she factored into an upcoming story line for Randall (Sterling K. Brown). “Sterling has an unbelievable arc in the back half of the season,” he said, “and she plays an important role in the story.”

Bush, an alum of One Tree Hill, starred in Chicago P.D. and also appeared on Chicago Med and Chicago Fire. Adlon created and stars in FX comedy Better Things, and her credits include King of the Hill, Californication, and Louie.

This Is Us returns to the air after a two-month hiatus on Jan. 14, and EGOT winner John Legend will pop up in the winter premiere.

The season 4 guest roster of This Is Us also includes Omar Epps, Marsha Stephanie Blake, Tim Matheson, and Timothy Omundson.

Last month, EW revealed two first-look photos for the winter premiere, which you can see here. You can also check out an exclusive clip from the episode, which features Rebecca (Mandy Moore) heading to to the neurologist with Randall and Miguel (Jon Huertas) to figure out why her memory is failing her.
