‘This Is Us’ Star Milo Ventimiglia Leads Emmy Campaign For Show’s Production Crew
“Television production is absolutely a team sport,” says This Is Us star Milo Ventimiglia. And he wants to make sure his teammates get time in the spotlight for award consideration, just as he and his co-stars likely will for their acting.
With Emmy nomination-round voting beginning on June 10, Ventimiglia hosts a series of “For Your Consideration” videos highlighting the behind-the-scenes talent of the breakout NBC drama. “In my mind and in my heart, the success of the show isn’t just the writing and the acting — it’s the crew,” he tells Yahoo TV. As the actor points out, crew members are responsible for the show’s seamless transition between time periods, the different sets that span across the show’s many decades, the makeup that ages the characters, and the swelling music that brings a tear to your eye. “Everyone plays a part,” Ventimiglia says. “So doing these videos for the crew is necessary. Everyone should appreciate and understand how talented these folks are that are in our crew.”
