'This Is Us' fans are surprised yet satisfied by the unexpectedly simple series finale

After six incredible seasons, This Is Us came to an end Tuesday with the series finale revisiting the early days of Jack and Rebecca with their young triplets, while also flashing forward to the Big Three dealing with the devastating loss of their mother.

"What are we gonna do now," asked Kevin. Kate answered, "Like with our lives? We're gonna do what she wanted us to do. We're gonna live fearlessly."

Big plans for the Big Three are ahead as we learned that Randall is accepting the Democratic National Committee's offer to test a run for president, Kate plans to open more music schools for blind children like her son, Jack, and Kevin is going to spend more time with his nonprofit organization. Also, Randall also received some very exciting news – Deja is having a boy!

"I got some very good news on a very sad day," Randall shared with his siblings.

Surprisingly, the series finale wasn't as emotional as last week's penultimate episode. In comparison, it was simple yet still beautiful and satisfying… and that's exactly the sentiment fans shared on social media as they took to Twitter thanking This Is Us for the last six seasons and saying that the series finale was exactly what it should have been.
