Upper Chesapeake Bay Pride Festival returns to Havre de Grace this weekend

Oct. 5—Upper Chesapeake Bay Pride will host its fifth annual Pride Festival on Saturday in Havre de Grace.

The free, family-friendly festival will take place in Concord Point Park from 2 to 6 p.m. and feature live music and drag performances. This year's festival theme is "Pride by the Tide" and will feature over 100 artists, vendors and non-profit organizations.

Harford Community College is the festival's presenting sponsor again. The festival also has eight host sponsors, including APG Federal Credit Union, the Harford County Cultural Arts Board and the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health.

Baltimore native SONiA disappear fear is the festival's headlining musician, and local drag artists Vagenesis and Venus Fastrada will host the event. Festival organizers say it will be a rain-or-shine event and those who plan on enjoying the performances are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or waterproof blanket.

The festival is the highlight of Pride by the Tide weekend, with festivities Friday through Saturday night. For more information: ucbpride.com.
