Fear The Walking Dead - Currently Airing

I remember when Fear the Walking Dead debuted back in 2015, I thought it was a bad idea for The Walking Dead to suddenly have spinoffs, thinking it would never last. It was just a cash-grab and it wouldn’t catch on.

Oh, how wrong I was.

Fear the Walking Dead has finished its seventh season and, according to Deadline in December 2021, the eighth season is already ordered and on the way. Announced by AMC in January 2023, it was confirmed that the eighth season would be the last, and would premiere in two parts.

The first part started releasing May 14th, 2023. The next six episodes will release later on in October 22, 2023, as announced at 2023's San Diego Comic Con.

The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live - February 2024

Remember when we thought we were going to be getting those Rick Grimes movies to officially wrap up Rick’s The Walking Dead story? Yeah, that’s not happening anymore. Instead, we’re getting a whole new series featuring both Rick and Michonne.

Announced at Comic-Con 2022, via Deadline, a new limited series featuring the two characters from The Walking Dead would premiere on both AMC and AMC+, and that the Rick movies that were originally announced were no longer a go. To be honest, this is something I’m really excited by, because I feel it’ll properly end Rick’s story - as well as Michonne’s, with one of my biggest questions about the last episodes of The Walking Dead being about Michonne’s potential return. Guess I got my answer in the form of a limited series.

During a special that was shown prior to Tales of the Walking Dead premiering, The Walking Dead chief, Scott M. Gimple, revealed the first details about the show, via Comicbook, describing the limited series as an “epic and insane love story.”

I've been working on it very, very deeply with Danai and with Andy, and we continue to work on it pretty much every day together with some Walking Dead vets and some great new voices. It's an epic love story, but it's an epic and insane love story.

Confirmed in January 2023 by AMC, the show will debut in 2024, with production beginning in 2023. Danai Gurira even confirmed herself in an interview with Self that filming would start in 2023.

And in February 2023, filming had officially begun, according to The Walking Dead Twitter page, showing Rick and Michonne's hands intertwined and their names on the backs of seats.

In March 2023, it was announced that finally, another person was cast in the show - Lesley-Ann Brandt from Lucifer, so it'll be awesome to see her alongside our good old Rick and Michonne.

The name has officially ben set -- The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, as confirmed by a YouTube teaser released at 2023's San Diego Comic Con in July. And then announced at New York Comic-Con in October 2024, it was confirmed that the show would release in February 2024, so get ready.

Dead City - Ended July 23, 2023, Renewed For Season 2

One of my favorite characters from The Walking Dead has always been Negan. Not only is he one of the best villains of the show, but he’s one of the best anti-heroes on television right now. So, color me surprised when I found out that they were going to be coming out with a brand-new spinoff featuring my favorite villain and one of my long-time favorite female characters, Maggie, called Dead City.

I mean, talk about a pairing. The two are mortal enemies but have such a strange dynamic in Season 11 that I can’t help but wonder what the heck is going to come next with a spinoff. But, what makes me even more excited is the setting: New York City.

As someone who grew up not that far from New York City - and has watched The Walking Dead for many years - one of my biggest gripes was that they never went towards that metropolis but seemed to go everywhere else. And now, we’re not only getting a duo that works, but seeing a new setting that will surely knock our socks off.

June 18th, 2023 (day it premiered) has come and gone, and the first season has come to an end. Season 2 for the series is already confirmed, so better get excited.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon — Ended October 15th 2023, Renewed For Season 2

One of the major shows we were all excited for was The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, a series that took Daryl Dixon to France, of all please, and it turns out, it was a ton of fun with a lot of sick zombie moments and a really interesting story -- critics even called it "magnifique."

And now, the first season has come and gone, with it's wonderful The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon cast, but Season 2 for the show is already confirmed. What's better is that this second season is going to bring in someone very close to Daryl's life - that's right, the finale set up Carol's return!

When this second season is going to air, I'm not sure. I have a feeling it'll most likely be after The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, but until then, I'll just be patiently waiting to see Carol call Daryl pookie again.

The Walking Dead - Finished November 20th, 2022

You know, as someone who has watched this show since the beginning, it’s strange to think of it coming to an end after I’ve had so many memories and made friends just from watching this series. And now, after eleven seasons, The Walking Dead has come to an end, reaching its emotional finale on November 20th, 2022.

While it was upsetting to say goodbye to several characters that I'll never see again, I know that this isn't the end, because of all these spinoffs that are happening, so I'll mark this down as a "see you soon" for some of my favorite characters. And now, I can happily rank all the seasons from worst to best.

As a fan of The Walking Dead, I am excited to see what new stories the creators and actors plan on bringing to the world of walkers that I’ve grown up on. I’m also slightly nervous, because the last thing I want is to have too many stories all at once to keep track of.

Regardless, whenever these shows are released, I’ll be sitting in my seat with some popcorn, waiting to watch.
