The upcoming Tamil Movie releases set for January 2024 include Ayalaan, Thangalaan, Captain Miller, Lal Salaam, and Mission Chapter 1.

Captain Miller

Release Date: Pongal

After the blockbuster success of Vaathi, Dhanush is gearing up for his upcoming release, Captain Miller. The film is directed by Arun Matheswaran and produced by Sathya Jyothi Films. Furthermore, Dhanush’s movie revolves around the story of a renegade captain and his unconventional outlaws, executing daring heists in the 1930s and 1940s.

Originally scheduled to hit theaters on December 15, 2023, Miller’s grand release was later postponed to the festival of Pongal. As of now, the expected date for its theatrical release is either January 11 or January 12, 2024.

Ayalaan

Thangalaan is an upcoming Tamil movie that depicts the intense conflict between a tribal group and the British during the colonial era in India. The film, set in the time of British rule, is directed by Pa. Ranjith and produced by K. E. Gnanavel Raja under the banners of Studio Green and Neelam Productions. Vikram plays the role of Thangalaan, the tribal leader, in the movie. The cast also includes Pasupathy, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Malavika Mohanan, Daniel Caltagirone, and Harikrishnan Anbudurai in supporting roles.

The film was officially announced back in December 2021, with the working title Chiyaan 61, as it is Vikram’s 61st film as a lead actor. However, later on, the title was renamed with Thangalaan as its official name.

Mission Chapter 1

The film narrates the story of a prisoner confined in a jail outside India, suggesting the presence of criminals from around the world. Lal Salaam

Lal Salaam, the upcoming Tamil movie, is scheduled for its theatrical release in January 2024. The film portrays the cricket rivalry between India and Pakistan. Further, it seems to be delving into the issues between the two religious communities.

Moreover, Lal Salaam features Superstar Rajinikanth in an extended cameo appearance, alongside Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in pivotal roles.
