Oilers' Puljujarvi scores quick goal in first game with Finnish club
The Edmonton Oilers may still have Jesse Puljujärvi’s rights, but it’s Finnish hockey team Oulun Kärpät of Liiga that has his talents.
On Friday, the fourth-overall selection of the 2016 NHL Draft sniped home his first goal since returning to play with Kärpät.

It took the 21-year-old less than three minutes to notch his first-ever goal in the Champions Hockey League. He’s played 17 games in the CHL throughout his career.

Puljujärvi recently signed a one-year deal with Kärpät that includes an NHL opt-out clause until Dec. 1. That date is the deadline in which he could sign and play in the NHL this season.
This isn’t Puljujärvi’s first stint in Liiga. He played for Kärpät prior to being drafted during the 2015-16 season. The winger suited up for 50 games, recording 13 goals and 28 points.
The Swedish-born forward has made it clear that he wants a new start in the NHL and it seems he’s willing to hold out until Edmonton moves his rights.
Puljujärvi has tallied 17 goals and 37 points across 139 games with the Oilers.
