Kerry Washington is set to return to the silver screen as one of her newest characters. UnPrisoned has been officially renewed for a second season on Hulu. Exclusively reported by Deadline, the announcement also confirms the actress has renewed her overall deal with ABC Signature, the studio behind the series.

Created by author Tracy McMillan and loosely based on her own life experiences, Unprisoned also stars Delroy Lindo, Faly Rakotohavana, and Jordyn McIntosh. It debuted in March 2023 with record-setting viewership numbers on the streamer.

The half-hour comedy follows Washington’s character, Paige Alexander, who is a successful relationship therapist, social media influencer, and single mother as she welcomes her father (Lindo) into her home following his release from prison.
