Unmute! A Quiet Place 2 trailer sends Emily Blunt into the outside world

Emily Blunt finds herself, once again, in a quiet place.

With a muffled bang, Paramount Pictures rung in the New Year with the first A Quiet Place Part II trailer, continuing the horror story of the Abbott family and their struggle to survive in a monstrous world.

The sequel takes place not long after the events of the first film, which saw Evelyn (Blunt) and Lee Abbott (John Krasinski) fight to protect their children, Regan (Millicent Simmonds) and Marcus (Noah Jupe), from vicious mutants that hunt with their abnormally acute hearing.

The new trailer, which arrives weeks after a brief teaser screened in theaters, travels back in time to that chaotic day when the monsters first attacked and this family’s quiet little town was brutally unprepared for it. (Spoiler warning!) Meanwhile, in the present, with Lee now dead, Evelyn and her kids, including the newborn she had to birth during that fateful night, must now leave their home and travel into the outside world, where there are new threats other than the creature variety.

Krasinski returned to write and direct Blunt, his real-life wife, in A Quiet Place Part II, which features Peaky BlindersCillian Murphy as a man with mysterious intentions who comes across the Abbotts. Shazam!‘s Djimon Hounsou will also star. Not much is known about who they are playing, but Murphy’s character appears pretty surprised to see an infant. He has his own memories of that day the monsters attacked and they seem to have hardened him.

“The people that are left are not the kind of people worth saving,” he whispers.

A Quiet Place Part II opens in theaters on March 20.
