Universal sweetens Horror Nights lineup with another house announcement

Another day, another Halloween Horror Nights update. Universal Studios has unveiled the third haunted house for HHN 2024.

The after-hours fright fest will include a maze called Major Sweets Candy Factory, the park announced Tuesday morning.

“You’ve been invited to chaperone a field trip to a candy factory. The deadline delicious treats turn the kids into sugar-fueled fiends,” according to a description posted on Universal social-media accounts. The accompanying artwork has a broadly smiling man — presumably the major — in a top hat trimmed with candy corn and lollipop. And he sports a gold tooth.

House three comes on the heels of Monday’s announcement describing Goblin’s Feast house and the Spooky Empire revelation over the weekend introducing Slaughter Sinema 2 house.

Over the years, Universal Orlando has announced houses multiple ways: All in one batch, individually spread out over weeks, clumped in sets, solo efforts that give intellectual properties their own push and, once, a full year in advance. This year, the mazes have been identified on social media but, thus far, have not been elaborated on with news releases, email blasts or appearances on the official website.

The event will again feature 10 houses and five scare zones. Halloween Horror Nights runs on select nights between Aug. 30 and Nov. 3. Single-night tickets are now on sale.
