Universal: 5th Horror Nights house of year will be Monstruos

The stream of Halloween Horror Nights haunted house announcements continued Thursday with this revelation. Universal Studios will present a maze called Monstruos: The Monsters of Latin America at the 2004 event, which begins Aug. 30.

“With La Muerte as your guide, you’ll be begging for piedad from these three terrifying legends: Tlahuelpuchi, La Lechuza and El Silbón,” a post on the HHN X account reads.

It’s the fifth house revealed since Friday evening, plus one each weekday morning of this week. They’ve all been original concepts from the Universal team without ties to intellectual property. The event will include 10 houses and five scare zones, Universal has said.

Other known houses thus far include Slaughter Sinema 2 (a sequel to a 2018 HHN house), Goblin’s Feast (“you’re the main course”), Major Sweets Candy Factory (“sugar-fueled fiends” plus a character from a 2023 scare zone) and The Museum: Deadly Exhibit (evil escapes from “The Rotting Stone.”)

This year’s HHN will be held on 48 nights on a Wednesday-through-Sunday schedule and be dark on Mondays and Tuesdays from Aug. 30 through Nov. 3. Single night tickets are now on sale, and the price varies with date, ranging from $83 to $123. More information and ticket sales are available at halloweenhorrornights.com/orlando.
