EXCLUSIVE: The Unforgettable Gala, the annual ceremony that honors the biggest and most impactful Asian Pacific Islanders in entertainment, arts and culture, is getting a broadcast and streaming home for its 2023 edition, which has been set for December 16 at the Beverly Hilton.

ChimeTV is available on cable via Charter Communications and its Spectrum TV Select Plan and streaming at ChimeTVPlus.com. ChimeTV chief creative officer Takashi Cheng is also founder of Asian American collective Society1.

Journalist Lisa Ling and filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton have also been set as co-chairs of this year’s UNFO, its 21st edition, and will lead the awards selection committee. This year’s event will be compliant with SAG-AFTRA strike policies as the labor action hits 118 days today.

Unforgettable Gala is founded by James Ryu and produced by Character Media. The invitation-only event annually attracts 700-plus to tribute its honorees. Last year, names on the honors list included Ke Huy Quan, Stephanie Hsu and directors Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert from the eventual Best Picture Oscar winner Everything Everywhere All at Once; Olympic gold medalist Chloe Kim; Jeremy Lin; and Steven Yeun to name a few.

Added Ling: “It truly is an honor just to be Asian, but even more so, it’s my honor to be a part of such a diverse community with passionate stories and profound impact on the world. We’re here to celebrate these incredible individuals who’ve gone above and beyond, inspiring our community by their artistry, commitment and hard work.”
