On Full Frontal With Samantha Bee, undocumented immigrant workers from Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J. sat down with the comedian. After The New York Times ran a story on illegal immigrants being exploited at Donald Trump’s golf courses and resorts, most were fired.
Featured in the article were Victorina Morales and Sandra Diaz, who both worked and interacted with Trump for many years. They decided to go public with their stories because they claim they were abused and exploited.
Prior to Trump’s presidential campaign, Morales worked without any legal papers or documentation. But in 2016 her supervisor arranged for her to obtain fake documents.
After after Trump was elected, Morales claimed working for him became much more difficult. His stance on immigrants emboldened her racist supervisor. Morales said, “When [Trump] called us ‘immigrant rapists,’ the supervisor would say ‘Good, good, that’s nice because immigrants are no good. Garbage.”
Morales claimed the working environment became more and more toxic. She was forced to work extra shifts and was poorly treated. An emotional Morales said, “There were many insults and she even hit me three times.”
Sandra Diaz claims she has documents proving that the illegal workers were exploited. The women, along with other illegal former employees, hope to have their day in court.
