The Undertaker has disclosed the details of his planned appearance at WWE WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia. He featured in the main event of night two, aiding Cody Rhodes against Roman Reigns and The Bloodline to win the WWE Undisputed Championship.

The night two main event match included cameo appearances from figures such as The Undertaker, John Cena, and The Rock. The Deadman even delivered a chokeslam to The Rock during the show.

In a recent appearance on Busted Open Radio, The Undertaker revealed that discussions about a potential appearance began when Triple H called him. Taker mentioned that he informed Triple H that he was ready to do whatever was necessary as long as everyone agreed to have him in the match.

He stated, “Paul Levesque, he called me. I was like, ‘Well, this must be good if you get a phone call.’ So, I answered and he goes, ‘What do you think about getting involved in this? This may be like a dusty kind of finish.’ And I was like, ‘Hmm, that’s interesting. Look man, I’m there.’ The first thing I ask is, ‘Is everybody on board with that?’ Because you run the risk of being a huge distraction to something that’s been two years in the building. So that was my first question. I was like, ‘Is everybody on board?’ And he was like, ‘Yeah, I think everybody’s on board. We’re going to sit down. We’re going to talk about things.'”

Furthermore, The Undertaker revealed that he received a text about a quarter of the way through the night two show, indicating that his in-ring appearance had been approved.

The Undertaker took Stone Cold’s spot at WWE WrestleMania 40

Reports suggest that WWE initially intended Stone Cold Steve Austin to take The Undertaker’s surprise spot at WrestleMania 40. WWE had teased appearances by Stone Cold and John Cena a few weeks before.

However, the deal fell through weeks before the show for Stone Cold Steve Austin. According to reports, WWE and Stone Cold could not reach a final agreement.
