The Umbrella Academy Season 4 Will Answer All Lingering Fan Questions, Reveals Star

The Umbrella Academy star Justin H. Min recently revealed that all fan questions will be answered in the upcoming fourth and final season of the Netflix series.

In an interview with Collider, Hin — who portrays Ben Hargreeves in the series — confirmed that production on The Umbrella Academy Season 4 had wrapped last year. He also shared that the writers knew ahead of time that Season 4 would be the final season, meaning that the series would not end with any unresolved storylines.

“We filmed the final season last year, the first half of last year. It was incredibly emotional, but we were just so thankful to have the opportunity to sort of close out the story,” Hin said. “So many shows, unfortunately, get prematurely canceled, but we knew going in this was gonna be our final season, so our writers and our showrunner had the opportunity to wrap up all the storylines.”

The actor added that while he would “probably be killed” if he revealed anything about the final season, he felt comfortable enough to tease that “a lot of questions that have been brewing throughout the seasons of the show” will finally “get answered in this final season.” He continued, “I think there’s a real sense of closure, so I’m excited for the fans who’ve been waiting for certain answers to get those.”

What is The Umbrella Academy about?

Based on Dark Horse’s comic series of the same name by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá, The Umbrella Academy premiered on Netflix in February 2019. Besides Hin, the main cast includes Elliot Page as Viktor Hargreeves, Tom Hooper as Luther Hargreeves, David Castañeda as Diego Hargreeves, Emmy Raver-Lampman as Allison Hargreeves, Robert Sheehan as Klaus Hargreeves, Aidan Gallagher as Five Hargreeves, Ritu Arya as Lila Pitts, and Colm Feore as Sir Reginald Hargreeves.

While Hin didn’t divulge any plot details for The Umbrella Academy Season 4, it seems likely that the final run of episodes will continue from the twist ending featured at the end of the third season, which saw the Hargreeves siblings finding themselves in an alternate timeline where they no longer have superpowers.

The first three seasons of The Umbrella Academy are currently available to stream on Netflix, with the fourth season set to debut on August 8, 2024.
