Two Pac-12 playmakers — UCLA tight end Caleb Wilson and Cal wideout Demetris Robertson — have been ruled out for the rest of the season.

Wilson went down with a foot injury against Colorado on Saturday night that will require surgery, the program announced. Wilson, a redshirt sophomore, is second in the country among tight ends in both receptions (38) and receiving yards (490). Both totals were second on the Bruins behind wide receiver Darren Andrews, who has 40 catches for 553 yards.

Wilson had six catches for 65 yards in the 27-23 win before limping off the field in the fourth quarter. UCLA improved to 3-2 (1-1 Pac-12) with the win.

In Berkeley, Cal confirmed that Robertson will not return this year after undergoing surgery for a “lower body injury.” Robertson said in a social media post that the surgery “was a success” and it was for an injury that he dealt with for the “majority” of his freshman season.

Robertson has missed the last three games after playing in the first two games of the year. In those games, he totaled seven catches for 70 yards and also rushed twice for 40 yards and a score. Robertson was a five-star recruit and made an instant impact as a true freshman, compiling 50 catches for 767 yards and seven touchdowns in 2016.

After starting 3-0, Cal is now 3-2 after losing 45-24 at Oregon on Saturday.
