Tyrese filed a $1 million lawsuit against Home Depot last month citing racial discrimination. The Atlanta location released surveillance footage this week and claims that the 44-year-old singer is lying about the events that occurred that day.

Per the “Sweet Lady” singer’s story, he was purchasing items and took a while on the line due to a computer glitch. He began to feel uncomfortable as people recognized who he was and chose to go out to the parking lot while his two helpers completed the purchase, claiming that the cashier permitted him to do so.

TMZ reports that Home Depot countered this story with the surveillance footage and said that the Fast & Furious actor never spoke face-to-face with any cashier. In fact, after initially going to the line to purchase items and placing them to be scanned, he went back into the store to shop more which took over 25 minutes and caused the transaction to be cleared.

Tyrese, when outside, FaceTimed with one of the cashiers and instructed them to allow his helpers to complete the purchase with his credit card. However, he was told they could not do that and he had to come inside to show identification. Surveillance footage shows the Los Angeles artist came back into the store and got into a tense argument with one of the cashiers before ultimately showing them his ID and completing his purchase.

The Black Rose artist told TMZ in August that it was difficult for him to sue Home Depot as it was “like his Disneyland.” He claimed he’d spent over $10 million there across two decades, but the store countered by saying they were not aware of how long he’d shopped there nor how much money he’d spent.

Outside of drama with home goods stores, Tyrese is still rolling with the music. That same month, he shared “Love Transaction” which addressed his divorce from Samantha Lee and their child support battle. He admits that the relationship left him feeling “emotionally bankrupt” in the over five-minute record. Listen to “Love Transaction” below.
