Tyreek Hill scores a TD that Tony Romo says he's never seen before

Perhaps the strategy of putting seven players back by the end zone, anticipating a Hail Mary pass on the final play of the first half, wasn’t the best move for the Dallas Cowboys.

The Kansas City Chiefs passed underneath and turned the last play of the half into one of the strangest touchdowns you’ll see this season. Alex Smith threw short to Tyreek Hill, an easy completion because the majority of the Cowboys’ defense was near the end zone. Hill was behind a few blockers, and no Cowboys made an aggressive move upfield to get him.

Hill, one of the fastest players in the league, stutter-stepped and broke outside to get by Cowboys cornerback Orlando Scandrick, got a great block from teammate Demarcus Robinson and cut back inside to get in the end zone as the half expired.

It was a crazy touchdown and it got CBS color commentator Tony Romo fired up.

“Oh my gosh! I’ve never seen that in my entire life in football!” Romo said.

The Cowboys’ horrendous defense might be a teaching moment for other teams. Don’t sit back and wait on a Hail Mary if it means letting one of the NFL’s fastest players get a head start behind some blockers in the open field.
