Tyra Banks Celebrated the 'Little Wrinkles' on Her Face a Month After Her 50th Birthday

Tyra Banks turned 50 on Dec. 4 and she’s honoring the new decade in her life with a refreshingly unfiltered snapshot on Instagram. The America’s Next Top Model host is keeping it real for her fans and they seem to appreciate her honesty about the changes she is seeing on her face.
Banks shared a selfie with natural light that gave a realistic look at her supermodel face. She looked stunning with her piercing hazel eyes drawing everyone in. The smoky-eye makeup and the rosy glow on her high cheekbones showed off her beauty. She kept her hair down and wavy, but it was pulled back from her face with a black headband. Banks offered up her best smize and gave her followers some insight on what she sees in her reflection now that she’s 50.

“I now have these little wrinkles on the corner of my mouth and I’m kinda feelin’ them,” she wrote in the caption. “What are you about yourself these days? TyTy wants to know.” She elicited quite a response in the comments with one fan writing, “I LOVE that you have not resisted aging with surgeries, etc. You are, as always, STUNNING!!!” Another follower praised, “Take it all in babe. You age like fine wine.” And of course, there’s the person who knows Banks very well, adding, “One thing about them eyes they talk in every photo.”
Banks explained her philosophy on aging gracefully to People ahead of her 50th birthday last year. “I look in the mirror and I don’t feel 50,” Banks said in September. “I think 50 is the new 30s,” she shared. “When I look in the mirror, I don’t see it. I have not had age plastic surgery stuff. Not against it. I just haven’t had it yet. Maybe I’ll need a little something, something — I am 50 even though I’m not [yet]. But I’m not insecure about it.”
She also thanked other celebrities who have proven that 50 is fabulous — she’s had good role models to follow on her own journey. “When I was younger, 50 was old, right? It was like a grandma age or something,” Banks told the Daily Mail last fall. “Now I look at Jennifer Lopez, I look at Halle Berry, I look at Jennifer Aniston, and I’m like, ‘What the hell is 50?’” With such a wonderful blueprint to abide by, it’s no wonder Banks is embracing her wrinkles because aging is a privilege.
