Two Floridians on new 'Golden Bachelor': 'Golden Bachelor' contestants: Therapist, retired teacher from Florida on reality TV show

Before the next set of shows for the franchise premiere Sept. 28 at 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. ET, get to know some of the top contestants from the Sunshine State:

Tyler Cameron is from Jupiter, Florida

The contestant that has the ability to make Bachelor Nation, and some supermodels, swoon.

With his sense of humor, sensitive side and quickness to defend lead Hannah Brown, Tyler Cameron of Jupiter easily became a fan favorite during season 15 of "The Bachelorette" in 2019. Both longtime fans and casual watchers alike watched in agony as Brown broke up with Tyler for dog food jingle writer, Jed Wyatt.

Despite not returning to any of the spinoffs and rejecting the title role of the Bachelor on the following season, Tyler has remained popular with over two million followers on Instagram as of September. Following the show's premiere, he dated supermodel Gigi Hadid for the rest of that year and started a career as a model.

Tyler has also started multiple charities in honor of his late parents, as his father passed away in 2018 due to cancer and his mother from a brain aneurysm in 2020.

Corinne Olympios is from Miami

For longtime Bachelor fans, this contestant goes down in the reality show history books.

Corinne Olympios is known for her one-liners and her feud with fellow season 25 contestant Taylor Nolan while fighting for Nick Viall's hand in marriage in 2017. Who could forget the iconic moment when Olympios took a nap during one of the rose ceremonies and defended herself by saying, "Michael Jordan took naps." In the end, her jabs and scheming weren't enough for Viall.

She was invited back for the next season of "Bachelor in Paradise." However, she ended up quitting the show after week one when ABC was forced to turn off cameras and suspend production to investigate allegations of misconduct. Someone in production saw Olympios and fellow BIP season 4 castmate DeMario Jackson allegedly engage in an encounter that they thought wasn't consensual.

According to People, however, Corinne came out to deny anything non-consensual happened after the investigation was done and apologized to Jackson for how the media was portraying him.

Aa of now, she has used her fame to grow her business as the CEO and founder of her jewelry, apparel, and home décor line, Aura Sugar Co. She currently has 1 million followers on Instagram.

Rachel Recchia is from Clermont, Florida

Rachel Recchia held her own during the franchise's first double lead season, sharing the role of Bachelorette with Colorado nurse Gabby Windey, after the nation saw them both brutally dumped by Clayton Echard.

The Clermont pilot ran into multiple speed bumps while navigating her men, from sending home a guy on her first one-on-one date to having guys reject her for Windey's rose. In the end, she found a spark with California contractor Tino Franco and he proposed on the finale of the show. Yet, just as viewers celebrated the engagement of the happy couple, they were whiplashed by the hour-long break-up footage of Recchia confronting Franco about his cheating.

Fortunately, Recchia is getting another shot at finding her soulmate. She will be one of the first to hit beach on the season 9 of the franchise's hit spinoff 'Bachelor in Paradise' this fall. It will air at 9 p.m. ET and be available to stream on Hulu the next day.

Jess Girod is from Winter Springs, Florida

Viewers of the most recent season of "The Bachelor" with lead Zach Shallcross will remember its most sparkly contestant.

Jessica Girod won the hearts of the fans with her relatable personality and love of body glitter throughout the season. She was ultimately eliminated ahead of hometown dates after she and Zach did not on the same page about their relationship. The 24-year-old marketing coordinator has 88,600 followers on Instagram.

Just like Recchia, the Florida State University alumna is returning to TV screens this fall for "Bachelor in Paradise." Girod is one of the 22 contestants to stake their claim on the beach before anyone else.

Johnny DePhillipo is from Palm Beach Gardens, Florida

The South Florida real estate agent seemingly snuck through season 19 of "The Bachelorette," with DePhillipo making it to the top three for Windey's section. After a slightly tense hometown date the episode before, he self-eliminated after sharing with her that he wasn't ready for an engagement.

His biggest impact was Season 8 of "Bachelor in Paradise," where he fell fast for Virginia influencer Victoria Fuller. The two became inseparable throughout the season and withstood many challenges that tested their strength as a couple.

They ended up getting engaged on the finale but revealed further into the episode that they had broken up shortly after. They then battled in a 'he said, she said' debate of whether Fuller cheated on DePhillipo with other Bachelor alumni, Greg Greppo.

As of Sept. 9, he currently has 124,000 followers on Instagram.

Peter Izzo is from Port St. Joe, Florida

One of the cheesiest reality TV show villains ever.

Peter "Pizza Peter" Izzo ruffled some feathers on season 18 of "The Bachelorette" with Minnesota-based teacher Michelle Young. Fellow contestants were quick to notice that all of Izzo's conversation led back to two things — pizza or his own restaurant in Port St. Joe, Peter's Pizzeria. It got especially heated when Izzo threw Will Urena's prize from a challenge into a pool, leading to his elimination on week three.

The "pizzapreneur" joined Season 8 of "Bachelor in Paradise" in a second chance to find love. However, he quit the same episode after rubbing beach-goers the wrong way and not finding a match in time. He currently has 13,200 followers on Instagram and has opened a second pizzeria in Boca Raton.

Juan Pablo Galavis is from Miami

The infamous Bachelor lead turned villain during his own season.

The Venezuelan-born professional soccer player turned heads as a contestant vying for then-Desiree Hastock's heart in 2013. After being eliminated on week nine into the season, Galavis was chosen as the first male Latino-lead for the franchise.

However, things quickly got off to a rocky start when he made negative comments about the possibility of a gay bachelor taking over the lead. He later claimed that his comments that were mistranslated from his native Spanish and taken out of context.

During his actual season, contestants complained the single father was notably uninterested in most of them and made multiple remarks about them. The Cut said ABC had to later issue multiple apologies for his “careless, thoughtless and insensitive” comments both before and during the show's airing.

In the end, he refused to give out a ring to his final pick, Nikki Ferrell, but the duo dated for a few months after the season wrapped before calling it quits.

Katie Morton is from Oviedo, Florida

Hailing from Central Florida, dancer Katie Morton saw support from fellow Floridians during Colton Underwood's season of "The Bachelor." She was eliminated on week six.

Like DePhillipo, Morton saw more airtime on the summertime spin-off, where she met Chris Bukowski on the sixth season of "Bachelor in Paradise." They ended up getting engaged on the show's final episode. According to Bachelor Wiki, they admitted to having a rocky relationship since filming ended yet neither were willing to give up on the relationship until they officially announced their break-up in December 2019.

She recently moved to England to get with her boyfriend, professional soccer player James Rowe, which she details on social media. She now has 396,000 followers on Instagram.

Caleb Balgaard is from Orlando, Florida

Unlike most of the other contestants, Caleb Balgaard might have also been recognizable beforehand. And by those who aren't fans of the franchise.

Known professionally as Kale Dixon, the Orlando wrestler signed to the WWE back in November 2022. According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Balgaard has appeared on NXT live events, as well as the weekly Peacock show NXT Level Up.

For season 20 of "The Bachelorette" with Georgia family therapist Charity Lawson, Balgaard was seeking out a different ring. From dominating Speedo volleyball games to busting out his singing chops during a Barbie-inspired talent competitions, the wrestler fought for Charity. In the end, he was eliminated on week four.

Kat Izzo is from Tampa, Florida

Like Girod, Katherine Izzo also competed on the 27th season of “The Bachelor,” and will be making her second appearance before Bachelor Nation on “Bachelor in Paradise” later this month.

According to Bachelor Nation Wiki, “Katherine is a vibrant go-getter with a witty sense of humor and a glass-half-full attitude. She loves spending time with her nieces and nephews and can’t wait to have a family of her own. Katherine’s career as a registered nurse is extremely important to her, but her number one priority is to find her perfect match.”
