Stagecoach Road in Marshall, TX

Stagecoach Road is an old dirt road that is sunken beneath the surrounding ground due to stagecoaches driving over it before the Civil War. Tall trees loom alongside it, giving it a dark, gloomy feeling. The road was later abandoned after the war due to the expansion of the railroad system. However, the county maintains it, considering it a historical area.

According to local legend, a Voodoo queen was chased out of New Orleans and later settled in Marshall, where she sold amulets. The town priest feared her and killed her on the side of the road. Now, people report seeing her spirit wandering along the dirt road on full moon nights, determined to haunt the town that betrayed her.

A few years ago, a traveler on the road was driving in her jeep and later found the handprints of a small child on the driver's side, according to her social media post. Supposedly, they did not meet a child at any point of their journey. Self-proclaimed paranormal investigators also traveled to the road and documented supposed apparitions.

The Old Alton Bridge, or Goatman's Bridge, is a historic iron bridge built in 1884 to connect Denton to Copper Canyon. According to legend, a local Black goat farmer named Oscar Washburn was hanged from the bridge by Klansman. When people returned to check, they found his body had disappeared from the noose and was said to have transformed him into a hellish satyr. Now, the creature stalks those driving over the bridge, and if someone drives at night with no headlights and honks twice, they will see the glowing eyes of the Goatman.

People also report seeing ghostly figures and strange lights in the surrounding woods. Visitors report being touched, grabbed, and having rocks thrown at them.
