Two Killed in Shooting at Cousin Stizz Concert

Police believe the dispute arose in the crowd at Atlanta’s Masquerade venue

Two people were shot dead last night at the Masquerade venue in Atlanta, GA., where Cousin Stizz had been due to perform, Atlanta Police say in a statement. Two bystanders were hospitalized with foot and ankle wounds. Police believe a dispute arose after “the two deceased victims had become rowdy and climbed up onto the stage” in the break before Cousin Stizz’s set. They suspect a single gunman withdrew a pistol and targeted the two people killed before fleeing.

In a statement on Twitter, Cousin Stizz said he was “completely heartbroken.” He added, “I’ve always called my shows family reunions because they’re never anything but fun, safe, good vibes and positivity. I’m in shock and at a loss of words for the senseless violence.” See the statement below.
