There’s an unexpected pairing that you probably didn’t have on your Bingo card for 2024, and it involves two former Kardashian family members. Caitlyn Jenner and Lamar Odom have teamed up to launch a sports podcast that plays off of their old Kardashian fame. It’s called Keeping Up With Sports.

To refresh your Kardashian-adjacent memory, Jenner was married to Kris Jenner for 24 years, and Odom was married to Khloé Kardashian from 2009 until 2016. That means that Jenner was the former basketball star’s father-in-law for seven years. According to TMZ, their podcast wants “to take a fresh look at what it really takes to be the best.” Both athletes have experience with that since Jenner was the 1976 Olympics champion in the decathlon and Odom won two NBA championships with the Los Angeles Lakers.

While both of them have been out of the Kardashian family fold for quite a few years, their friendship shouldn’t be surprising to fans who followed the Keeping Up With the Kardashians series. Jenner often acted as a parental figure to Odom, who didn’t have a strong family structure growing up. Odom always appreciated their bond and seems to have stayed in touch with the sometimes-polarizing public figure over the years.

Just last fall, Odom was spotted at the Reagan Presidential Library and Museum supporting Jenner when she received the 2023 Game Change award at the Spirit Of Lincoln Gala. A video clip showed Jenner gently touching Odom’s arm and saying, “I’ll see you this week.” Perhaps that’s when the seeds for the podcast were planted — they knew that capitalizing off their Kardashian-adjacent fame would be a headline grabber.

Jenner genuinely seemed touched that Odom was there on her big night because she responded to the video clip from last fall, writing, “It was an honor to have @LamarOdom here supporting me – it’s always special when family supports family – and Lamar will always be family. Thank you Lamar. I am so thrilled to see you doing so well.”

This podcast development is sure to draw a Kardashian reaction behind closed doors and we wish we were a fly on the wall to hear what they had to say because they probably didn’t see this unexpected duo coming either.
