ELKHART — Two exhibits continue through March 3 at the Midwest Museum of American Art, 429 S. Main St.:

“Abstract Topographies: One if by Land — The Paintings of Richard Keen”: Born in 1971 and based in Maine, Keen graduated from Elkhart’s Memorial High School in 1990.

The exhibit “Abstract Topographies: One if by Land — The Paintings of Richard Keen” opened Jan. 12 and continues through March 3, 2024, at the Midwest Museum of American Art in Elkhart. Born in 1971 and based in Maine, Keen graduated from Elkhart’s Memorial High School in 1990.

Since then, he has become known throughout New England for his abstractions of Maine’s topographies, including land, sea and sky. His work reveals his day-to-day observations and work-life on the water of Casco Bay as a commercial diver looking upward at forms of boat hulls, rudders and keels.

The exhibit includes 35 works by Keen.

“Intimate Worlds: The Collage Works of Bonnie Rock”: This exhibit draws together more than 50 works of collage by the late Plymouth artist Bonnie Rock (1941-2022).

Her multi- layered collages utilized encrusted surfaces with costume jewelry, personal photos and other ephemera excavated from books, magazines and other paper sources.

These unique “Intimate Worlds” reveal her dreams, thoughts and commentary about personal relationships, self-analysis and contemporary culture.

She entered the Elkhart Juried Regional every year from 2014 to 2022 and won the Best Mixed Media Award one year.

The museum now houses The Bonnie Rock Legacy Collection.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and 1 to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

Admission is $10-$6.
