Twitter erupts with new fan theories about Jack after mysterious photo on 'This Is Us'

On Tuesday’s This Is Us, Kevin began the search to find out more about his father Jack’s time during the Vietnam War. Jack’s secrecy about it meant Kevin wasn’t having much luck — until he made a connection.

While visiting with one of Jack’s fellow soldiers, Kevin pulled a picture from an envelope and saw something familiar: Jack was in a picture with a mysterious Vietnamese woman who was wearing the necklace that Jack gave Kevin when he was a teenager. Fans immediately began theorizing on Twitter.

Fueling fan speculation was a brief moment between Jack and the woman in the photo in last week’s episode, when the pair exchanged a brief but deliberate look after her son ran to Jack and offered him a fish he had caught.

Some fans want nothing to do with the “Jack has a secret kid” idea. Some were emotional, while others had a more practical approach.

And while we don’t yet know if Kevin will go to Vietnam to find the woman, we do know on thing: The theories will keep coming, because the promo for next week’s episode had people saying things like, “That preview though.”
