GREEN BAY - After he gets done rockin' Capital Credit Union Park with Bret Michaels on Friday night in Ashwaubenon, Dee Snider will stick around Saturday morning for a book signing.

The frontman, who turned Twisted Sister's "I Wanna Rock" and "We're Not Gonna Take It" into inescapable heavy metal hits and MTV videos in the 1980s, will be at the Rock N Roll Land record store, 838 Military Ave., at 10 a.m. Saturday to sign copies of his new novel, "Frats."

The book, which came out in June, is described on his website as "an honest, daring story that examines the pressures of toxic masculinity in high school hallways." The cover touts it as "based on true events." The main character, Bobby Kovacs, is loosely drawn from Snider's high school experience in Baldwin New York, in the 1970s, according to an Associated Press story.

"Frats" need to be purchased in advance at Rock N Roll Land for the signing event. A limited quantity of hardcover copies are available beginning today on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Snider will sign the book and up to two other items as well as take a photo with each person. No guitars, pick guards, mics, drumheads or musical items will be autographed. Items like albums, photos and figurines will be allowed.

"Frats" is the first work of fiction from the 68-year-old Snider, who is also the longtime host of the weekly syndicated radio show "House of Hair" (7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturdays on WAPL-FM in Green Bay and Appleton). His autobiography, "Shut Up and Hand Me the Mic," came out in 2012.

Snider is among the guests on the Green Bay stop of Michaels' Parti-Gras tour. The evening of '70s and '80s rock hits begins at 6:30 p.m. and also includes original Foreigner lead vocalist Lou Gramm and former Journey singer Steve Augeri. Tickets are $49 and up at etix.com.
