More from TVLine

Earlier this month, we asked you to submit your small-screen gratitude for 2023 — and you delivered in a big way, showing appreciation for everything from Loki’s slumpless sophomore season to the precious pup featured on Will Trent.

In the list below, we’ve singled out 15 expressions of gratitude, including thanks for #Choni’s satisfying endgame on Riverdale, the reliable comforts of Bravo’s Real Housewives franchise, Hetty’s sweet letter to Callen on the NCIS: Los Angeles series finale and Ted Lassos memorable trip to Amsterdam, to name a few.

Readers also tipped their hats to standout TV newbies like Shrinking and The Fall of the House of Usher, an instantly iconic episode from Succession‘s final season, the long-awaited ends of Hollywood’s dual strikes and more. (Note: Submissions have been edited for content and clarity.)

Keep scrolling to see all 15 picks, then drop a comment with the 2023 television for which you are most grateful. We hope you have a lovely Thanksgiving, TVLine readers!

“Thank you, Mike Flanagan, for putting out The Fall of the House of Usher when new, compelling TV was so limited. Thoroughly scared me, and I loved it!”

“This year, I am grateful for Loki’s second season. I have found back the intensity of peak Marvel, I can’t get enough of Mobius and Loki’s friendship, the new characters are so dang amazing (O.B.!) and it is such a joy to get to witness that.”

“This year I’m most thankful that Cheryl and Toni got their much-earned happy ending in the Riverdale series finale. After suffering through two seasons of them being broken up and barely interacting, watching my favorite soulmates find their way back to each other in the ’50s was the most satisfying TV storyline of the year for me, and then to have them get that elusive endgame (complete with an adorable little boy played by Vanessa Morgan’s real-life son!) was the greatest gift.”

“I’m extremely thankful for ‘Connor’s Wedding,’ the superbly written and acted gem from the final season of Succession. It was, by far, the best look at the numbing grief and confusion following a family member’s death since ‘The Body’ from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.”

“I’m thankful for CBS’ Elsbeth. Elsbeth Tascioni has been my favorite recurring character on both The Good Wife and The Good Fight, and I’ve always wanted her to get her own show. Chances are that the character only works as a recurring side character, but I have all the confidence in the world that Carrie Preston will nail this once again. Plus: The Kings are two of the most talented TV writers these days, so how could this go wrong? I’m not just thankful, I’m also very hyped.”

Shrinking! When I read the logline, I expected a more depressing show. But it was so much more, showing the highs and lows of life after loss. The cast is outstanding, I especially love Christa Miller and Ted McGinley’s marrieds Liz and Derek. Hoping co-creator Brett Goldstein will make a guest appearance in Season 2!”

“I was thankful that after almost 16 years of rooting for them to get together, Carly and Freddie finally did in Season 3 of the iCarly reboot.”

“Who needs turkey when you have Beef, one of the most exciting new shows in years! Innovative, emotional and shocking, this is the kind of game-changer that streamers need to green-light more often.”

“In 2023, I’m thankful that Bravo and the Real Housewives (New York, Beverly Hills, Salt Lake City) are always a safe, comforting place to land.”

“I’m thankful for Will Trent — an actual intelligent, well-produced, strongly acted network procedural. The plots aren’t dumbed down, the characters are well-developed and there is a real emotional underpinning to the ongoing narratives. And it has a Hall of Fame dog character.”

“Thankful for Season 3 of Superman & Lois. Especially the performances from Bitsie Tulloch and Tyler Hoechlin. Was a tough storyline — as it hit a personal note, but an important one — and was portrayed beautifully with the strength, hope and kindness we’ve grown to love from these characters.”

“This year I am most thankful for friends’ recommendations which led me to become completely obsessed with The Summer I Turned Pretty and its polar opposite Euphoria. While both are teen-related, they couldn’t be more different or more enthralling in their own separate ways, and although it will be quite a while before new episodes air of each show, I will be watching them as soon as they’re available.”

“I’m very thankful for NCIS: LA finding a lovely way to include Hetty in its series finale. Her letter to Callen was very beautiful and showed how much she loves her team, plus, hearing Linda Hunt herself read the letter was so touching.”

Ted Lasso Season 3 Episode 6 [“Sunflowers”], but Ted Lasso in general. To Roy Kent learning how to ride a bike (how Brett Goldstein or Phil Dunster did not get hurt filming, I will never know), to the team pillow fight, to Leslie and Will’s walkabout in Amsterdam, to, well, everything, this episode makes me smile.”

“I’m thankful that the writers and actors are back to work! Although I’ve managed to survive the last few months watching quiz, reality and news shows, I miss my dramas on broadcast networks. So I’m most thankful that all my favorite characters and actors will soon be returning to my TV set!”
