TVLine Items: Mayor of Kingstown Adds 3, Tom Ellis Joins Tell Me Lies and More

Mayor of Kingstown’s population is growing.

Season 3 of the Jeremy Renner-led Paramount+ drama has added Paula Malcomson (Ray Donovan), Richard Brake (Absentia) and Denny Love (Looking for Alaska) in recurring roles, TVLine has learned.

Malcomson has been cast as Anna Fletcher, a woman from Kingstown with a request for Mike; Brake will play Merle Callahan, one of the Aryan shot callers in Anchor Bay who is currently serving a life-sentence; and Love will portray Kevin Jackson, a rookie prison guard.

Additionally, Michael Beach has been upped to series regular (as police captain Kareem Moore), and Nichole Galicia and Necar Zadegan will also return this season, as Rebecca and Evelyn.

* Tom Ellis has been cast in Season 2 of the Hulu drama Tell Me Lies, Deadline reports. He’ll portray Oliver, a professor at Baird College and the husband of Lucy’s English instructor Marianne (Gabriella Pession), whose influence over one of the show’s core characters has “chaotic repercussions.”

* David Duchovny, Jack Whitehall and Carice van Houten will star in Prime Video’s  upcoming psychological thriller Malice, according to Variety. The show centers on a young man (Whitehall) looking to infiltrate a wealthy family, with Duchovny and van Houten playing the family’s patriarch and matriarch.

* Earth, Wind & Fire, Kirk Franklin, Mary Mary, Robin Thicke and the NFL’s Players Choir are set to perform at The Super Bowl Soulful Celebration (fka Super Bowl Gospel Celebration) airing Saturday, Feb. 10 at 8/7c on CBS.

* CBS News Sunday Morning will celebrate the life and legacy of its beloved former anchor with a special “Remembering Charles Osgood” edition of the broadcast on Sunday, Jan. 28 at 9 am on the CBS Television Network and streaming on Paramount+. Osgood, who anchored the broadcast for 22 years before retiring in 2016, died Tuesday, Jan. 24. He was 91.
