It’s a This Is Us reunion of sorts for Gerald McRaney, who joins series creator Dan Fogelman’s new show starring Sterling K. Brown as a Secret Service agent leading the detail for James Marsden’s unnamed president.

In the dearly departed NBC drama, McRaney portrayed Dr. K, who advised Jack and Rebecca to adopt Randall (played by Brown).

For Fogelman’s currently untitled Hulu drama, the actor will recur as the president’s father Kane, a “captain of industry and kingmaker,” Deadline reports.

Additionally, Nicole Brydon Bloom has been tapped for a series regular role as a young agent who views Brown’s character as a mentor. Also joining the ensemble in a recurring capacity are For All Mankind’s Krys Marshall as Robinson, a lead agent and professional rival to Brown’s character; Charlie Evans (Everything’s Gonna Be Okay) as the president’s son Jeremy, a dreamer who’s apathetic to his dad’s political career; and Jon Beavers (Animal Kingdom) as Billy, a fellow Secret Service agent and best friend to Brown’s character.

Previously announced cast include Julianne Nicholson (Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty, Law & Order: Criminal Intent) as a behind-the-scenes power player and Sarah Shahi (Red, White & Royal Blue, Sex/Life) as a therapist for those at the top with secrets of her own.
