TVLine Items: Dennis Quaid Is Happy Face Killer, Daniel Gillies in Sight Unseen Trailer and More

Dennis Quaid (Lawmen: Bass Reeves) finds himself on the other side of the law in the upcoming Paramount+ series Happy Face, about the notorious serial killer who got the moniker because of the smiley faces he drew on evidence while boasting about his crimes.

Quaid will star as the titular murderer opposite Annaleigh Ashford (B Positive, Masters of Sex), who will portray his daughter Melissa Moore.

The eight-episode season is based on Melissa’s life and draws inspiration from the Happy Face podcast at iHeartPodcasts as well as Moore’s autobiography Shattered Silence, which was co-written by M. Bridget Cook.

The show will begin production in Vancouver this spring and is set to premiere exclusively on Paramount+ in 2025.

* Paramount is shuttering Noggin, the educational app aimed at preschoolers, this year, per Deadline. No new subscribers are being accepted, and current accounts will go through a transition period.

* Nicholas Pinnock (The Book of Clarence) will star opposite Amanda Seyfried in Long Bright River, the Peacock thriller centered on a Philly cop investigating a series of murders in a neighbor hard-hit by the opioid crisis, Deadline reports.

*Tig Notaro returns to the stage for her new comedy special on Prime Video, Tig Notaro: Hello Again. The one-hour special will premiere in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide on March 26, 2024.

*HBO has released a trailer for the documentary trilogy God Save Texas, directed by Richard Linklater and debuting Tuesday, Feb. 27 at 9/8c:
