Best TV shows on TV tonight

The Inheritance, 9 pm, Channel 5

Channel 5 has found great success with a series of cheap and cheerful dramas in recent years, and while this one won’t win many awards, it promises viewers a riveting ride. The story centres on three siblings - Sian (Gaynor Faye), Daniel (Robert James-Collier) and Chloe (Jemima Rooper) - who are shocked when their father Dennis (Larry Lamb) dies unexpectedly and leaves everything to a woman they’ve never heard of.

Anyone who’s fallen out with a family member over an inheritance might understand their frustration, but from there, this impressively cast tale sets off on a twisty journey where all kinds of secrets and revelations are laid bare.

Remarkable Places to Eat, 9 pm, More4

This week, Fred Sirieix is back in his homeland, France, but he’s never been to this episode’s destination: Burgundy. Michael Caines knows it well, however, as he trained there as a young chef – and he thinks it has the best food in the country. Their first stop is the Michelin-starred La Côte d’Or in Saulieu, where Michael was mentored by Bernard Loiseau.

Then, they head to the Ouche Valley to eat at a rustic restaurant and last – but very much not least in Fred’s eyes – they sample some exquisite pastries at Patisserie Fabien Berteau.

Bad Behaviour, 9 pm, BBC Three

Bad Behaviour
Bad Behaviour

This four-part Australian psychological drama, based on Rebecca Starford’s memoir, stars Jana McKinnon as Jo, a 15-year-old schoolgirl at Silver Creek, a remote and exclusive girls’ boarding school in the Australian Bush. There, the bullying and manipulative Portia (Romper Stomper’s Markella Kavenagh) causes a rift between Jo and her best friend Alice (Yerin Ha), the other scholarship student.

In a joint timeline, 20-somethings Jo and Alice meet by chance and look back on the traumatising experience of their schooldays and how it has affected their adult selves.
