Mrs Brown's Boys season 4, 9.30 pm, BBC One/iPlayer (box set)

Winnie and Agnes peer out the window in MRs Brown's Boys season 4
Winnie and Agnes peer out the window in MRs Brown's Boys season 4

Mrs Brown’s all a-flutter when Father Damien organises a speed-dating event at Foley’s bar. Granted, she’s not entirely sure what it is, but even so, she’s all in. A trip to the hairdresser with new neighbour Birdie (June Rodgers, who matches Brendan O’Carroll’s bawdy Mrs B beautifully) quickly follows, as does disaster when Agnes ends up giving snobby nemesis Hilliary (Susie Blake) a very familiar makeover (!) Then it’s off to the pub where Mrs B, tarted up to the nines, sets her sights on a handsome French bloke called Franc… Pray for him!

Jane McDonald: Lost in Japan, 9 pm, Channel 5

Arriving in the neon-lit streets of Osaka, Jane meets a local who takes her down alleys to hidden shrines and temples. She’s struck by the way spirituality is woven into everyday life here, Shintoism and Buddhism being the two main religions. Osaka is known as Japan’s Kitchen, so it’s no surprise there’s a lot of eating on the itinerary. A must-do is a foodie walking tour, where our host samples pancakes, katsu, octopus balls and mochi before heading off for a  lesson in cooking traditional dumplings in a chef’s family home. ‘I found her on the internet,’ says Jane, chuffed. That’s what we love about travelling with Jane, the highlights seem genuinely hand-picked by her – especially for us!

Wilderness, Prime Video

Wilderness stars Jenna Coleman and Oliver Jackson-Cohen
Wilderness stars Jenna Coleman and Oliver Jackson-Cohen

Jenna Coleman gives a stand-out performance in this gripping and clever thriller in which she plays troubled Welsh writer Liv, who uproots her life to move to New York with her dashing husband Will (Oliver Jackson-Cohen), only for him to start an affair with his co-worker. Hurt and furious, Liv decides she’s going to channel her anger and wreak a terrible revenge on Will on the fabulous road trip across America’s stunning national parks that he’s organised in order to patch things up. But her plan starts to go badly awry when the two of them bump into some very unwelcome fellow holidaymakers en route…

★★★★ CC

Coco Chanel Unbuttoned, 9 pm (times vary), BBC Two

The brand Chanel represents luxury and elegance. But its founder Coco Chanel was recruited by Nazi spies, according to this fascinating film. It gives a detailed account of the designer’s rags-to-riches story, from a deeply unhappy childhood to becoming one of the world’s most famous women. It also reveals her relationships with Pablo Picasso and the Duke of Westminster, as well as a scandalous involvement with German spy Baron von Dincklage. Through him, she was recruited as part of a failed mission to act as go-between between Winston Churchill and Hitler’s foreign intelligence. With archive photos and film and contributors including Jerry Hall and her daughter Georgia Jagger, both former Chanel models.

Ashley Walters and Kano return as Dushane and Sully, with the action in this final series of the British gangland drama picking up shortly after Sully shot Jamie at the end of the last season, so there’s a huge fallout. Everything they’ve built comes under threat from forces outside and within their empire. Top Irish actors Barry Keoghan and Brian Gleeson join the cast as new characters Jonny and Tadgh.
