TV Shows Ending in 2024: Blue Bloods, Evil, Young Sheldon, The Good Doctor, Umbrella Academy and 20+ Others

More than 120 TV shows left the airwaves for good last year, and we’re poised to add at least 30 more to that count during 2024.

Throughout this calendar year, we’re keeping track of the many series — both short-lived and long-running — that plan to wrap up their runs, a list that already includes quite a few broadcast-TV veterans. To name a few, ABC will say goodbye to Grey’s Anatomy spinoff Station 19 and medical drama The Good Doctor, while CBS will air the final episodes of staples like Blue Bloods, Bob Hearts Abishola and Young Sheldon.
Elsewhere on the list below, you’ll find cable and streaming farewells, including swan songs for Freeform’s Good Trouble and grown-ish, HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm, Paramount+’s Star Trek: Discovery and Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy. (Stranger Things is once again missing from our annual round-up, having been pushed to 2025 after last year’s dual strikes further delayed production on the final season.)
Not every departing series has a premiere and/or finale date just yet, but we’ll be updating this list with new intel as it gets announced, so be sure to bookmark it for the most current information. 61st Street
The CW acquired both seasons of the Courtney B. Vance-led drama series after AMC scrapped Season 2 before it could air (despite all episodes having been filmed). The second and final season will debut Monday, July 22, at 9/8c.
Big Mouth
Netflix’s adult animated comedy will be back for an eighth and final season, debuting sometime in 2024.
Blue Bloods
CBS’ long-running cop drama will wrap with a final, 18-episode Season 14, to be split into two batches of episodes. The first 10 installments are currently airing Fridays at 10/9c, with the final eight landing in the fall.
Bob Hearts Abishola
Season 5 was the last for CBS’ Chuck Lorre comedy; its series finale aired May 6.
Bunk’d
Disney Channel’s Jessie-verse will come to a formal end in 2024, when Bunk’d wraps up with the second half of its seventh season. The final 10 episodes are currently in production.
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Larry David’s HBO comedy concluded its 12-season run with an April 7 series finale.
Élite
The Spanish teen drama will drop its eighth and final season on Netflix sometime in 2024.
Evil
Paramount+’s supernatural series will end with its upcoming Season 4, slated to premiere on Thursday, May 23.
The Good Doctor
ABC’s long-running medical drama will end with Season 7, currently airing new episodes on Tuesdays at 10/9c.
Good Omens
Prime Video announced in December 2023 that Good Omens had been renewed for a third and final season. A release date timetable has not been made clear, but filming begins “soon” in Scotland.
Good Trouble
In December 2023, Freeform cancelled both of its last two remaining scripted series, Cruel Summer and Good Trouble. The latter ended its run with a March 5 series finale.
grown-ish
Freeform’s black-ish spinoff will conclude with Season 6, which is currently unspooling its second half on Wednesdays at 10/9c.
Hightown
The Starz crime drama ended with its third season, which culminated with a March 8 series finale.
La Brea
NBC’s sci-fi drama concluded with a six-episode farewell run; the series finale aired Feb. 13. (Showrunner David Appelbaum answers our burning questions here!)
Magnum P.I.
After its initial cancellation at CBS and subsequent rescue by NBC, Magnum P.I. ended for real with its Jan. 3 series finale. (Showrunner Eric Guggenheim answers our burning questions here!)
Mo
Netflix renewed Mohammed Amer’s critically acclaimed dramedy in January 2023 for a second and final season. A release date for the sophomore run is still TBD.
My Brilliant Friend
My Brilliant Friend will reach a natural conclusion with Season 4, to be based on The Story of the Lost Child, the fourth book in Elena Ferrante’s My Brilliant Friend quadrilogy. The final episodes will air in Spring 2024 on HBO.
Power Book II: Ghost
The first of several Power spinoffs, Book II: Ghost will end with its upcoming fourth season on Starz, to be split into two parts. Part 1 debuts on Friday, June 7, at 8/7c, with the second half kicking off on Friday, Sept. 6, at 8 pm.
SEAL Team
The David Boreanaz-led military drama will end with Season 7, releasing on Paramount+ sometime in 2024.
Sort Of
The third and final season of Bilal Baig and Fab Filippo’s comedy series aired in Canada in late 2023; Stateside, the show wrapped up for good on Feb. 8 on Max.
Star Trek: Discovery
Star Trek: Discovery will wrap up with its current fifth season, now dropping new episodes Thursdays on Paramount+.
Star Trek: Lower Decks
Paramount+’s animated Star Trek series will conclude with its previously announced fifth season. The swan song is expected to be released sometime this fall, though an exact date remains TBD.
Star Wars: The Bad Batch
The animated Star Wars series ended with a May 1 series finale on Disney+.
Station 19
ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy spinoff will say goodbye with its 10-episode seventh season, currently airing Thursdays at 10/9c.
Superman & Lois
It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s… a 10-episode fourth and final season for Superman & Lois, which will air on The CW in Fall 2024. Due to significant budget cuts, though, a number of former series regulars — Wolé Parks as John Henry, Emmanuelle Chriqui as Lana, Inde Navarrette as Sarah, Tayler Buck as Natalie, Erik Valdez as Kyle, Sofia Hasmik as Chrissy and Dylan Walsh as Sam — will not be returning full-time.
S.W.A.T.
After initially cancelling S.W.A.T. after six seasons in May 2023, CBS reversed course days later, renewing the procedural for a 13-episode seventh and final season. New episodes are currently airing Fridays at 8/7c.

Sweet Tooth
Netflix renewed Sweet Tooth in May 2023 for a third and final season; all eight episodes will release on Thursday, June 6.
The Talk
CBS has renewed its daytime staple for an abbreviated 15th and final season. The last episode will air sometime in December.
The Umbrella Academy
Netflix’s adaptation of Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá’s comics will be back for a fourth and final season, dropping on Thursday, Aug. 8.
Vikings: Valhalla
An offshoot of History’s Vikings series, Vikings: Valhalla will conclude with its upcoming third season on Netflix, debuting in 2024.
What We Do in the Shadows
FX confirmed in December 2023 that What We Do in the Shadows will end with its previously announced sixth season. A premiere date is TBD.
Yellowstone
Fans of Yellowstone have been waiting a long time for the Paramount Network drama to resume its fifth and final season, which last aired on Jan. 1, 2023 — and Season 5B won’t arrive until November 2024.
YOU
Netflix announced in March 2023 that its Penn Badgley-led drama series had been renewed for a fifth and final season. A release date has yet to be announced.
Young Sheldon
CBS’ Big Bang Theory prequel series will end with Season 7, consisting of 14 episodes. The swan song is currently airing Thursdays at 8/7c and wraps up with a one-hour series finale on May 16.
