With Nielsen ratings now back on their regular schedule, Thursday night brought a win for ABC - with a slightly improved Grey's Anatomy topping all other telecasts for the night with a 2.0 rating among adults 18-49 and nearly 8 million viewers.
That's prior to final returns for the first primetime outing of March Madness NCAA basketball. CBS's initial, pre-time-zone-adjusted stats have primetime coverage averaging a 1.3 rating in the key demo and 4.6 million viewers. Those numbers will see some tweaking with finals, but not much.
Also on ABC, steady episodes of Scandal (1.4 adults) and The Catch (0.8 adults) helped drive the night's win - though both tied with NBC's offerings for No. 2 in their time slots behind CBS' basketball coverage.
On NBC, Superstore earned a flat 1.1. rating among adults 18-49 prior to a lifted Chicago Med (1.4 adults) and The Blacklist: Redemption (0.8 adults).
On Fox, MasterChef Junior brought another 1.1 rating among adults 18-49. The second episode of Kicking and Screaming, regrettably, fell down to a 0.6 rating in the key demo.
