TV Ratings: ‘The Good Place’ Goes Out on a High

NBC’s “The Good Place” signed off last night after after seasons to its highest rating and total viewership for 12 weeks.
The series finale scored a 0.7 rating among adults 18-49 and 2.3 million total viewers, its best tally in both demographic since the season 4 premiere back in September. Following the finale, the network aired a special to celebrate the show, featuring interviews between Seth Meyers and the cast and creators. That special scored a 0.6 and 2 million total viewers.

Earlier in the night, “Superstore” came in at a 0.7 and 2.8 million total viewers, even week-to-week, while “Law & Order: SVU” capped things off for the Peacock with a 0.6 and 3.6 million total viewers.
ABC was the top network on Thursday night, thanks to “Station 19” and “Grey’s Anatomy” which scored a 1.0 and a 1.1 respectively. However, both shows took a hit from last week’s big crossover premiere. “Station 19” was down 17% in rating and 13% in viewership to 6 million, and “Grey’s” technically saw a 21% dip in rating and a 17% loss in total viewers to 5.6 million. Last week’s crossover scored a series high 7 million viewers during the “Station 19” time slot. “A MillIon Little Things” also dipped a fraction as a result of its slightly weaker lead-in, posting a 0.6 rating and 3.8 million viewers.
Over on CBS, “Young Sheldon” continued its five-week streak of 1.0 ratings and drew a night-topping 8.6 million total viewers. Freshman comedies “The Unicorn” and “Carol’s Second Act” both came in even at a 0.6. “Mom” ticked up a touch ratings-wise to a 0.7. The season 1 finale of “Evil” didn’t show much growth, scoring a 0.5 rating and 3.2 million viewers.
“Last Man Standing” posted a 0.7 rating and 3.9 million viewers, a series low for the Fox show to date. “Outmatched” shed almost 1 million total viewers from its premiere last week to end up with 2.3 million and a 0.6 rating. “Deputy” ticked up a touch in the 18-49 demo, but also lost a bunch of viewers, dipping almost 30% from last week to 2.3 million.
Finally on the CW, “Supernatural” and “Legacies” both ticked up to a 0.3, with the former drawing 1.1 million total viewers and the latter around 900,000.
