TV Ratings: CBS’ ‘Young Sheldon,’ ABC’s ‘The Good Doctor’ Post Solid Monday Premieres

CBS’ new comedy “Young Sheldon” and ABC’s freshman drama “The Good Doctor” delivered solid premieres on Monday, according to Nielsen’s metered market overnight ratings.

“Young Sheldon” held on to the bulk of its “Big Bang Theory” lead-in at 8:30 p.m., while “Good Doctor” saw a tune-in bounce at 10 p.m. coming out of “Dancing With the Stars.”

“Big Bang” prequel comedy “Young Sheldon” opened with a 10.7 household rating and 17 share, according to Nielsen, coming out of an 11.4/18 for “Big Bang” at 8 p.m.

“Good Doctor” grew ABC to a 7.5/13, coming out of a 6.2/10 for the 9:30 p.m. half-hour of “Dancing With the Stars.”

Nielsen’s 56 overnight metered markets cover about 70% of U.S. TV households. More detailed ratings will be released later today.
