TV’s ‘nicest judge’ announced he had cancer. This Miami hospital just gave an update

Here’s your feel good Friday alert: Frank Caprio, aka the Nicest Judge in the World, got some uplifting news on the health front.

The “Caught in Providence” star, who often went viral for the compassion he showed defendants in his TV courtroom, has completed treatment for pancreatic cancer in Miami.

In an Instagram post on Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute’s page, Caprio appears in a video set to Coldplay’s upbeat “Adventure of a Lifetime.” The 87 year old is seen ringing the so-called celebratory bell of hope surrounded by cheering medical professionals.

“The journey of @therealfrankcaprio has inspired millions around the world and we’re grateful to be entrusted in his care!” said the Kendall facility’s caption.

Caprio, who is known for letting folks off the hook after listening to their stories and empathizing with their situations, retired from the bench in January 2023. He announced his diagnosis just months later in December, in a TikTok video.

“I received so many wonderful messages from people all over the world,” the Rhode Island native said. “Your help will give me the strength to fight this health battle. I need all the prayers I can get.”

His clip garnered more than 2.5 million views in only six hours.
