WE TV Expands Original Programming Team

WE tv continues to grow its original programming team following the promotion last month of Lauren Gellert to the newly created position of EVP development and original programming. Suzanne Gladstone Murch has been upped from executive producer to the newly created role of VP original programming, overseeing all unscripted production. David Stefanou joins WE

tv as VP development, overseeing the network’s ongoing search for fresh, new unscripted series. Further expanding its west coast presence, WE tv has appointed Angela Molloy as VP development, to work closely with west coast based production partners and agencies. Murch and Stefanou are based in WE tv’s NYC headquarters and report to Gellert. Molloy, based in the network’s LA office, reports to Stefanou.

“We are thrilled to expand our original programming team as our unscripted originals continue to fuel viewership growth and audience engagement,” said Gellert. “With the well-deserved promotion of Suzanne and the addition of David and Angela WE tv is poised to build on its momentum generated by our hit series like Braxton Family Values, Kendra On Top and Marriage Boot Camp Reality Stars.

Since joining WE tv in 2010 as an executive producer, Peabody and Emmy winning Murch has overseen the network’s hit shows such as Marriage Boot Camp, L.A. Hair and Kendra On Top. Prior to WE tv, she was an executive producer at VH1 where she had a first look development and production deal and created the hit show, The Pick Up Artist. Her production company (Olde/Gladstone Productions) had projects with clients including MTV, Lifetime and Disney. Murch also served as co-producer on 20th Century Fox’s first syndicated medical reality show, Trauma Center.

Prior to WE tv Stefanou oversaw Season 25: Oprah Behind the Scene (OWN), Too Cute (Animal Planet) and The A List franchise (Logo), as well as series for Bravo, Discovery and TLC at True Entertainment. Additionally, he led the company’s foray into scripted fare and oversaw unscripted development. He also served as VP of original programming at Oxygen and held previous positions at MTV UK, Wendy Finerman Productions and Franklin & Siegel Associates.

Molloy has produced hit series such as Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles for Bravo and Life with LaToya on OWN in addition to developing and producing shows for HGTV, A&E, TLC, VH1, and Reelz. She also served as a director of programming at TLC working on event television including Miss America Live, Miss America: Countdown To The Crown, and This is Why You’re Single.
