Tulsa Police Describe 'Catastrophic Scene' at St Francis Hospital
At least three people were killed after a shooter opened fire at St Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on June 1, authorities said.
“Earlier this afternoon, we responded to a call about a man armed with a rifle at the Natalie Building at St Francis Hospital. This turned into an active shooter situation,” the Tulsa Police Department said in a Facebook post, adding that the shooter was also deceased.

- We're ready.
- OK. Basically, we had an active shooter at the family building behind me earlier today. Officers got here, got into the building very quickly. We believe we have the shooter down. We have multiple injuries on multiple civilians right now. One might be killed.
We have several people shot. We've got Fire working with our SWAT team and the initial officers on the scene to get as many people out as possible. Right now, it's a quiet scene. So no one actually shooting inside. So we are doing a floor-by-floor, room-by-room search, making sure that we don't have anybody else outstanding in the building.
We're starting a slow evacuation. There is no technical active shooter where someone is actually discharging rounds at this time. If you go into a situation where somebody is discharging rounds, we're going to aggressive situation with a contingent of officers and follow that.
So right now, it's settled down. We're trying to rescue those who are injured, and we're treating this as a-- just it's a catastrophic scene in there right now. So we're trying our best to navigate to every single floor. We're having some difficulties getting through some locked doors. But we're locking floor-by-floor down, and we're bringing more and more officers in here so we can safely clear the entire building.
We have multiple floors-- five or more floors right now with hundreds of rooms and hundreds of people within the building, so you have to give us some time on this. Right now, we believe that the primary shooter is down. So unless we have intelligence and another shooter is in the building, we'll work on that.
